Saturday, September 11, 2010  ~  Creating Dragon Boats with Lynette Holmes ~   Tsung-Tse is a symbol for the Dragon Boat Festival in China. At one time Tsung Tse was the name of a rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves which was always served during the festival. Its attractive shape is now used for decorative purposes in the form of colorful silk windings. Tsung Tse can be strung together and displayed in different ways and are often used as Christmas ornaments.  We will be creating Dragon Boats with modern materials and embellishments! October 9, 2010 at Riverside Arts Market ~ Join the celebration of National Spinning & Weaving Week with Jacksonville Weavers Guild members!  Purchase their unique one of a kind handmade products and watch skilled artisans demonstrate fiber art processes of carding, spinning, weaving and braiding.

November 13, 2010  ~  Open Studio ~ An introduction to weaving and spinning. Guild members will provide an opportunity for novices and the curious to experience weaving on inkle, table, and floor looms. Additionally there will be card weaving, kumihimo braiding, and spinning wool using a drop spindle. You may create something to take home.
